Our Services

We provide expert geotechnical and environmental investigation services throughout Ireland. Our tailored solutions are designed to maximise field data collection, ensuring accurate results that support the best possible project outcomes.

Laboratory Testing

As part of our investigations, we carry out a wide range of laboratory testing either in-house or through trusted independent laboratories. These tests ensure reliable data for design, construction, and environmental compliance.

Geotechnical Soil Testing

  • Moisture Content – Determines the amount of water in soil, essential for understanding soil behaviour.

  • Atterberg Limits – Identifies soil plasticity and classification for engineering use.

  • Particle Size Grading Analysis – Measures soil composition, including hydrometer analysis for finer particles.

  • Bulk Density & Dry Density – Establishes the weight-to-volume ratio, key for compaction and stability.

  • pH, Sulphate, and Chloride Content – Assesses chemical properties that may affect durability of structures.

  • Organic Content – Identifies organic matter that can impact soil strength.

  • Compaction Testing – Determines optimum moisture levels for maximum soil strength.

  • California Bearing Ratio (CBR) – Evaluates soil strength for road and pavement design.

  • Moisture Condition Value (MCV) – Assesses soil suitability for earthworks.

  • Shear Box Tests – Measures soil shear strength under controlled conditions.

  • Triaxial Testing – Provides detailed analysis of soil strength and stress-strain behaviour.

  • Oedometer Testing – Evaluates soil compressibility and settlement potential.

Environmental Soil Testing

We work with specialist laboratories to provide tailored environmental testing, including Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC Analysis), the Murphy Suite, and the Arup Suite. These ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project-specific requirements.

Rock testing is also complete by our in-house laboratory or by specialist laboroatories. Testing includes:

Rock Testing

Our in-house and partner laboratories also perform comprehensive rock testing, including:

  • Point Load Tests – Measures rock strength in the field or lab.

  • Unconfined Compression Tests (UCS) – Assesses rock compressive strength.

  • 10% Fines Value & Aggregate Impact Value – Evaluates rock quality for construction aggregate use.

  • Tensile Strength – Determines resistance to cracking under stress.

  • Abrasion Testing – Tests rock durability under wear.

  • Polished Stone Value – Assesses skid resistance for road surfacing materials.

Additional Testing

We also provide specialist testing upon request, ensuring every project receives a tailored approach to meet technical and environmental needs.
